I am Yours

This weekend was a special time for us as we dedicated Alaina to the Lord. It was an awesome experience to know that we were making a public declaration that we will submit her to the Lord's will for her life with the help of our families and the body of Christ.
Although it was hard not to get caught up in her cute dress and precious bow, I tried my best to concentrate on the fact that the Lord has entrusted me with this precious gift but ultimately she his His child whom I have the privilege and great joy to raise.
The words to the Casting Crowns song, "Who Am I" rang in my head all day yesterday as we celebrated this special day. It makes me stop and think of how big and awesome God is and how small I am but how much he loves me and how much he loves Alaina.

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

I am yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Cause I am yours.
I am yours.

On another note...
Our new furniture arrived last week and it is fabulous! I am thankful every time I sit upon its fluffy cushions! I think Eric and I have fallen asleep in the living room for the past 5 nights!

And lastly...we have started on the journey of teaching Alaina how to eat! I just found it so bizarre that I have to teach her how to eat and swallow. We've only tried cereal a couple of times but she's doing okay with it. I feel bad feeding it to her because it just looks so disgusting but she doesn't seem to mind. So, here's to full tummies and hopefully sleep filled nights!

Alaina's lips make me want to MELT. How do you keep yourself from kissing her face off?

Thanks for sharing about the dedication! Children are a gift from the Lord, and it is such an honor to give them back to Him, is it not?

And finally, I love the furniture. I'm so glad you posted photos of it.
